About the Center

The ICBI gathers research and innovation strengths of Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology and Hefei National Laboratory for Physical Sciences at the Microscale. By using and developing interdisciplinary approaches to acquire, analyze and understand multi-modality information of brain connectome and regulation, the center aims to reveal basic mechanisms of brain information processing at multiple structural and temporal scales, to help understand and treat brain diseases, and to inspire the next generation intelligence technology.

Research Directions

  • Cutting-edge techniques of neural structure imaging, neural activity detection and manipulation, and neural data processing, analysis and integration;
  • Molecular architecture in neuronal synapses and rules of synaptic transmission and plasticity;
  • Cellular organization and connectivity in the brain and the circuit basis of brain disorders;
  • Principles of neural information processing and brain-inspired artificial intelligence.
