The Vice President of MIT, ClaudeCanizares, visited BCBDI on Nov. 11th. 2014. Dr. Liping Wang, currently theprincipal investigator of neural engineering center, showed Mr. Canizaresaround within the newly-built institute, renovated from an existed restaurant.Mr. Canizeras watched the historical wall, which shows the trail of BCBDI builtup from scratch. He visited the monkey room, physiology lab, and molecularbiology lab within the building later on. He was confident about the futuresuccess of BCBDI, and expected  potentialcollaboration not just with respect to the brain institute, but also in manyother fields. 

Claude Canizares has been the vicepresident in MIT since 2013. Before that, he was the director of MIT\'s Centerfor Space Research, Associate Provost, and Vice President for Research.Canizares is also the principal investigator for the Chandra X-rayObservatory\'s High Resolution Transmission Granting Spectrometer Instrument.
