Introduction

Dr. Montardy obtained his PhD degree in the Neuroscience Institute of Timone (INT) with Dr. Frederic Chavane, in the school of Medicine of Marseille (France). His researches focused on VSD imaging of V1 neuronal population, linked with oculomotor behaviors in the awake monkeys.
In 2014 he joined the lab of Prof. Liping Wang, where he focused on optogenetics in awake rodents and primates. Using optogenetics and behavioral approaches, his research aims at:
1) Revealing subcortical pathways specifically involved in processing of aversive emotions and avoidance behaviors.
2)At the neuronal population level, understanding how emotional inputs (aversive and rewarding) modulate sensory integration processes.
