Introduction
Dr. Li obtained her PhD degree in Biomedical Science at the Lab for Enteric Neuroscience (LENS), Department of Chronic Diseases, Metabolism and Ageing in KULeuven University, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Pieter Vanden Berghe, Prof. Dr Werend Boesmans and Dr. Marlene M Hao. During her PhD, she studied how the enteric circuits are established in the different gut regions in the mouse. In 2019, Zhiling joined the lab of Prof. Dr Yang Zhan in BCBDI. She now focuses on exploring how the enteric circuits controlling the gut motility are wired in the Shank3 induced ASD mouse and how the gut-brain connection is involved in this regulation. Her scientific work has contributed to several abstracts and peer-reviewed publications.
