Yao Wang is an Associate Researcher. She received her B.Sc. in Biology from the Chu Kochen Honors College, Zhejiang University, and her Ph.D. in Physiology from the School of Life Sciences, Peking University. She then conducted postdoctoral research in neurobiology at the University of Pittsburgh, USA.
In late 2021, she joined the Brain Cognition and Brain Disease Institute, Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences as an Associate Researcher.
In recent years, her research has focused on exploring synaptic plasticity changes and underlying mechanisms in the central nervous system during learning and memory, drug dependence, and addiction, using approaches including animal behavioral assays, electrophysiology, microscopic imaging, and optogenetics.
