Xin-An Liu is an Associate Professor and PhD supervisor at the Institute of Brain Cognition and Brain Disease, Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a Shenzhen “Peacock Talent” (Category B). She received her PhD from Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and, before joining SIAT, conducted postdoctoral research at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, focusing on neuro-immune mechanisms of nicotine addiction. Her laboratory studies brain–body interaction mechanisms involving the microbiome in neuropsychiatric disorders. She has published over 40 papers in leading journals, including Neuron, Molecular Psychiatry, and PNAS, with nearly 1500 citations.
